Website security seal subscription process
aexcea's website security seal subscription process is straightforward. Following is the 6 step process:
As a merchant you apply for an account through our online Merchant Application form.
1
Choose a payment from 1 of 3 options
Setup Fee Only - initiates the application and verification process, generates the setup scan and first scan report
Setup Fee + 1 year Subscription - initiates the application and verification process, generates the first scan and scan report, weekly scans and reports are scheduled
Subscription Renewal - if you wish to invest in a yearly subscription after paying the setup fee, or to renew your regular or expired subscription for another year
2
Before the process can begin, an aexcea agent contacts the merchant for more
detailed information
Special access to your site is granted to aexcea
aexcea performs scans on your website and within customer-accessible secured areas
An “offline” client account is setup and configured
You are issued a unique and confidential customer ID number
Note: all confidential merchant information is stored on a secure “offline” server that is never accessible through the internet. Scans are not conducted by the aexcea online servers. This ensures the highest level security for our merchant customers by preventing confidential information from being accessible to anyone without authorization.
3
The setup scan is conducted on the website and a report is placed into your merchant’s account
You are required to correct all issues prior to the first subscription scan
Reports are issued in PDF format. It's easy to read and print and contains the details needed to make required corrections
aexcea does not provide technical or programming support. You must make your own arrangements with qualified programmers or web developers
4
Upon successfully passing the setup scan, you are issued the temporary aexcea SecurePage™ trust symbol code
The symbol is issued as an HTML/Java code snippet which your developer can place into the your website
The code “talks” to the aexcea servers to validate itself
Prior to the first scan and verification process completion, the “Pending” symbol is displayed. This blue symbol indicates the merchant is approved but awaiting verification
5
Simultaneously, the verification process is initiated
Your website is carefully reviewed to ensure detailed contact information is displayed in a noticeable location on the website
An aexcea agent verifies the merchant’s telephone number and email address
A double-registered prepaid postcard is couriered to your address, and must be returned to aexcea
An aexcea agent reviews your Privacy Policy and Terms of Use Agreement to ensure it adheres to the aexcea Fair Play Policy
An aexcea agent reviews the payment system to ensure you are using a secure and qualified third party payment service (aexcea SecurePage™ subscribing merchants are not permitted to accept, handle, store and or process credit information themselves)
6
When the verification process is complete and you successfully pass the vulnerability scans, the aexcea SecurePage™ trust seal is immediately activated
The entire process generally takes less than 5 days to complete, depending on your response time
